Nursery Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Manager to lead our vibrant early childhood education team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the development and well-being of young children in a nurturing environment. As Nursery Manager, you will oversee daily operations of our small nursery, ensure high standards of childcare, and foster a positive, engaging atmosphere for both children and staff. Your leadership will inspire excellence, promote safety, and support the growth of our nursery community. 

Main Purpose of Job:

• To manage the provision of the nursery ensuring that children, parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare.
• To be responsible for the management of day-to-day financial operations within the nursery and to manage the occupancy ensuring maximum capacity.
• To manage a staff team effectively.
• To agree and set nursery goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets.
• To monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained
• To possess the highest standards and latest knowledge of practice and serve as an example to the other practitioners within the setting.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

• To work in partnership with children, parents and other professionals to improve the quality of Early Years’ provision, including physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care for children in the setting.
• To inspire outstanding practice and share knowledge and understanding of children’s care, learning and development throughout your setting and across the Early Years’ sector.
• To support, mentor and coach other practitioners in the knowledge, skills and behaviours that promote good outcomes for children.
• Show perspective families around the setting.
• Support and supervise staff and trainees in their day to day duties.
• Liaise with parents and other family members as well as other visitors that may be received by the Nursery.
• Liaise with the Children’s Information Service, Ofsted and other professionals associated with the day Nursery sector.
• Identify staff training and development needs. Co-ordinate internal training and development activities, organise external training events. Liaise with training organisations.
• Oversee the upkeep of the building and maintenance/stock of equipment, furnishings and fittings.

Essential Experience

• Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting (2 years preferred) 
• Minimum of a full and relevant Level 3 qualification - Level 6 with a relevant maths qualification
• Extensive experience working directly with children in early childhood education or childcare roles
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of childcare professionals
• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
• Knowledge of nursery regulations, health & safety policies, and safeguarding procedures
• Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality childcare and fostering positive learning environments

Hours & Pay 

• This role is for 37.5 hours
• Pay salary: £29,250.00-£35,400.00 per year

Nursery Practitioner 

Due to growing demand, we are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly team as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and committed to helping children thrive through play, exploration and positive relationships.

The Role

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning. You will work closely with colleagues, parents and carers to ensure every child receives the highest standard of care and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding care and education for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
• Build warm, positive and responsive relationships with children and their families.
• Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Observe, assess and record children's learning and development.
• Support children's emotional wellbeing, independence and confidence.
• Create an inclusive environment that meets the individual needs of every child.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and wellbeing.
• Complete children's observations, assessments and learning journeys to a high standard.
• Work effectively as part of a supportive team, contributing ideas and sharing good practice.
• Promote positive behaviour through encouragement, respect and consistent boundaries.
• Ensure the nursery environment is clean, organised, stimulating and welcoming.
• Follow all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and confidentiality.

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
• Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• A genuine passion for working with young children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Desirable

• Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
• Knowledge of child development and inclusive practice.
• Experience using online learning journals.
• On the DBS update service.

Hours & Pay 

• This role is for 37.5 hours however, part-time hours may be available.
• up to £13.00 per hour.

 

Bank Staff

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Level 3 Nursery Practitioner or above (Level 2 also considered) to join our friendly team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years and enjoys helping children learn, grow and thrive in a supportive environment.

The Role

As a Nursery Assistant, you will support our experienced practitioners in providing outstanding care and education for our children. You will help create a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, has a genuine love for working with young children and is eager to continue developing their knowledge and skills within the early years sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with observations and contribute to children's learning and development records.
• Prepare and maintain stimulating learning environments, both indoors and outdoors.

• Follow nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and confidentiality.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide the highest quality care and education.

Essential Requirements

• Level 2 or above qualification in Early Years or Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
