Care, Learning & Development
At Little Feet Day Nursery, we understand that nurturing care forms the foundation of all learning and development. From the very first day, our team provides gentle guidance, reassurance, and affection, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and supported.
For our youngest babies, this includes lots of cuddles, eye contact, and responsive care tailored to each individual’s needs. Bottles are offered at times that suit each baby’s routine, supporting a sense of security and well-being. The Baby Nook also includes a separate sleep room and a dedicated nappy-changing area, allowing us to follow personalised care routines with consistency and attention to detail.
Children in the Nurture Room receive support to develop social, emotional, and physical skills, including assistance with toilet training, independence, and confidence, all delivered in close partnership with families to ensure continuity between home and nursery.
We place a strong emphasis on outdoor play, recognising its critical role in children’s physical, cognitive, and social development. Our Nurture Room has free-flow access to the outdoor area throughout the day, and as an all-weather nursery, children enjoy outdoor experiences all year round. Outdoor learning allows children to explore, take safe risks, develop gross motor skills, and engage with the natural world, while also fostering curiosity, resilience, and teamwork. Our child-led curriculum ensures that every learning experience is purposeful and meaningful. Experienced early years educators continually observe children’s development, using these insights to plan next steps and extend learning through play. Children explore the world around them, learning about diversity, cultural capital, and sustainability, helping to shape their understanding of society and the environment from an early age.
We value strong partnerships with parents/carers, keeping them informed of their child’s development through a secure online journal, as well as dedicated parent evenings throughout the year. This ongoing communication ensures families remain fully involved in their child’s care, learning, and development.
